PASSED

Well I have passed my testing!!YEAH...happydance! My bestfriend and I went down on Sunday to say at the Marriott in Ypsilanti MI. It was a very nice place to stay!

So I had many people tell me to make sure you are at the clinic about and hour or so ahead of your appointment. Well I was I got there about 705am and got almost a page read in my book and they wisked me away to the lab to get blood drawn! WOW quick. So 5 tubes of blood later I then got taken to see the nurse and go over my med. history, got weighed and etc. So she then told me to put on this wonderful gown(that was huge on me..LOL) and another lady came in to look at my heart. So she stuck some sticky pads all over my chest, a couple on my legs and a couple on my arms. Heart was great! so got to put my clothes back on, and just as I was finished one more lady came in. She was the respirtory nurse. She checked my lungs and had taught me how to use my Resprix that I will have to use everyday 6-8 times a day up until surgery and then use after surgery. Its pretty neat. Then off to nutritian class. I was very tired at this point, consistantly yawning, but was able to stay away and learn so much stuff. Foods that I thought I would never be able to eat again,I still will be able to eat later on after my 6 week healing. Learning how to read labels properly, and what sugars are good for me and the ones that will hurt me after surgery. This was an hour long or so. By the time I got back to the lobby to wait for Xray, it was 950am. Met a wonderful lady there who is from ON as well. She was with her son who are both having the surgery done Nov.4. All the best to them both.

So after waiting for about a 1/2 hour i was called back to have xrays takin of my lungs I believe or heart or both, then to have an ultrasound down on my gallbladder. Now I found out I have gallstones. I have never had a problem with this as I can remember. But I have the decision to make whether I want it taken out during surgery. So I will be going from laproscopic RNY to open RNY. The recovery time is now 2 weeks instead of a week, and I really dont want to have the surgery open. Ive talked to many and they say it can be taken care of laproscopic as well. So I think I may wait till after surgery and see how I deal with it. If it gets worst then I will have it taken care of in ON. I am still up in the air on to what I will want to do. That was my day. I was finished at 1120am. Very long day.

So everything is a go and ready for surgery!Nov.3 here I come!!!

5 Days

Well, what can I say,5 days till PATs. I cant believe how quickly things are all coming together. Then just 2 weeks till surgery....breathe in through the nose and well out your nose or mouth...what ever floats your boat!LOL. Nah Im not nervous at all, seriously. Im just so happy with myself that I have finally committed to something and going through with it. Yahhh for me.

Now my bestfriend Stacey will be coming with me to the States for my PATs, cause Lorne(b/f) is having to work. Thats no problem cause with everything that is going on with this economy we need it.But if he isnt working then he will be coming instead.

Well I will catch you up on how everything goes on Monday night or Tuesday!!

Hugs to you all!

The count down continues.....32 and counting!

Hey, I havent wrote for a bit sorry! Well the day is getting closer 32 more days till my life changes completely! Still not nervous and I really hope it stays like that. I mean I know all the things that could go wrong with surgery, but Im beign positive and IM sure I am in great hands.
So this is a newer pic of my totally awesome and supportive boy Lorne. Love him to death,it was taken in his car(his other baby besides Seth lol) putting in some time before a wedding reception we were at last Saturday. Im really glad it turned out good. It was a very busy weekend.
So I havent been feeling the greatest the passt few days, I think I may have caught a bug from someone, or it could just be the change in the weather too, who knows. I hope it passes quickly. I dont need to be sick for my PATs on the 20th(Pre-admission Testing) or things might not happen.
I have been told that the testing is not bad. I have to be at the clinic for 8:15am so we will be going down the night before. They do blood work, EKG, ultrasound of your gallbladder, pee test, lung test and then you go to a nutritional class.
I asked my mother in law if she could order me the book Pillars of the earth and she did and then gave it to me as a gift, what a girl so thoughtful. It will be nice to have something to read just incase there is some waiting in between the testing.
So more than likely the next time I will write will be after my PATs testing. So we will see you then.
